The film is based on the real life story of Sarbjit Singh, a Punjab based Indian who was falsely implicated as a terrorist by a Pakistani court. Sarbjit is a story of the fight for justice by his sister Dalbir Kaur played by Aishwarya Rai Bachan.

The film is set to release on 20th May, 2016.
