RAEES is the fictitious story based in the early 80’s and 90’s in Gujarat, India. The film story revolves around the man named Raees portrayed by Shah Rukh Khan, who builds an entire empire from the scratch. Raees (SRK) is a small town guy who struggles a lot in the initial period but always aims for big. Firstly He starts working for a smuggler where Raees(SRK) job is to help smuggle liquor, store it in ware houses and then sell the stock illegally to local vendors. For a couple of years, He was happy for what he is doing, later he gets the frustration with few incidents and very less income changes. Now, He decides to start his own smuggling business.
Raees(SRK) set up his own business of smuggling and hoarding liquor. He battles with a lot of competitors and you will see a lot of action and drama taking place during this part. But, Raees overcomes all these obstacles and becomes a huge name. Raees eliminates every opposition that comes his way. During building his business, He falls in love with Aasiya ( portrayed by Mahira Khan). Their love story and chemistry is something people will be talking about for quite some time. He is also seen helping his community and is respected by the locals and feared by his competitors
Raees’s business is highly challenged and eventually thwarted by a tough cop Jaideep Ambalal Majmudar(played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui) whose sole reason for existence is the elimination of crime. What ensues next is a tumultuous battle between the two, which forms a key defining element of the film’s narrative.
