Story Plot: Half Girlfriend is the love story of a Bihari boy and a high society girl. Based on the backdrop of how English defines a class system, it talks about Madhav, who wants to get into a relationship with the urban and English speaking Riya Somani. On the outside, the two of them have nothing in common, but love blossoms in the most unexpected way when Madhav starts to woo Riya. But, Riya is not interested in commitment. Hence, she becomes his half girlfriend! The film got the pre-release hype with a trailer which showcases the lead cast Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor will be seen in the roles of Madhav Jha and Riya Somani respectively. And The trailer will give glimpse Madhav Jha( Arjun Kapoor) unconditional love with Riya Somani(Shraddha) and problems in their relationship. The story unwantedly brings in twist and turns, even as you eagerly wait for it to end. I can remember at least one place where I heaved a sigh of relief assuming the movie was finally over, only for it to go on for another half hour. This was the general feeling of the audience watching the morning show. Mohit Suri’s films are known for good music and thankfully the songs appear as a breather in this painful storytelling.

Positives -

- Dialogues

- Screenplay

- Direction

- Songs

Negatives -

- Second half seems to be stretched

- Arjun Kapoor looks too urban to fit the role of a Bihari.
